Photo Coverage: Standing Ovations IV Concert

On Monday night, October 16, 2005, Standing Ovations IV: From Stage to Screen and Back Again broke all previous attendance records.

The benefit for Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS took place at Joe's Pub at the Public Theater.

Magic moments:

D'Jamin Bartlett, from the original cast of A Little Night Music, singing "The Miller's Son" in the original key. She has only gotten richer and better, like a rare Bordeaux.

Lea Salonga digging into "As Long As He Needs Me" on the level of Judy, Patti and Georgia. (Wow!)

Nicolette Hart virtually reinventing the song "Tits and Ass" and the monologue that precedes it. (Cast her in the upcoming revival!)

David Burnham melting man and woman, gay and straight, with a luscious "If Ever I Would Leave You." (He made NYAdgal swoon at the party too!)

Andrea McArdle's "Maybe This Time"--and the pride with which she introduced her daughter's number.

Malcom Gets singing and accompanying himself on the piano to his own medley of "Ordinary People" and "Something Good"--very classy!

Brooks Ashmanskas being so funny as the voice of all of us who ain't "Kids" anymore.

Jennifer Rae Beck going from her tomboyish, very funny June in "If Mama Was Married" to a gorgeously simple and moving "Feed the Birds" from May Poppins.

But the highlight of the evening for me was meeting legendary BwayWorld poster Etoile. Such a sweetheart. Who knew?
